Question
A man received Rs. 15,000 as a bonus. He spent 25% of this
on groceries, 10% of the remaining on clothes, and 20% of the remaining on travel. What amount of bonus is left with him after all these expenses?Solution
ATQ,
Money spent on groceries = 0.25 Ă— 15000 = Rs. 3,750
Amount left = 15000 – 3750 = Rs. 11,250
Money spent on clothes = 0.10 Ă— 11250 = Rs. 1,125
Money left = 11250 – 1125 = Rs. 10,125
Money spent on travel = 0.20 Ă— 10125 = Rs. 2,025
So, the final bonus left with the man = 10125 – 2025 = Rs. 8,100
