    Let total marks obtained by both of them is x and y respectively. x – y = 12 And, x = 0.55 × (x + y) x = 0.55 × (12 + y + y) x = 0.55 × (12 + 2y) x = 6.6 + 1.1y 12 + y = 6.6 + 1.1y 0.1y = 5.4 y = 54 x = 54 + 12 = 66
