save 35% and 25% of their respective incomes. If the difference in their expenditures is Rs. 1,050, then what is the savings of 'P'?
A Rs.1,525 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B Rs.1,572 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C Rs.2,028 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D Rs.3,250 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    ATQ,

Let the income of 'Q' be Rs. '100n'

    Income of 'P' = 1.6 × 100n = Rs. '160n'

    Expenditure of 'P' = 0.65 × 160n = Rs. '104n'

    Expenditure of 'Q' = 0.75 × 100n = Rs. '75n'

    So, 104n - 75n = 1050

    Or, 29n = 1050

    Or, 'n' = 36.21

    Savings of 'P' = 160n - 104n = 56n = 56 × 36.21 = Rs. 2,028
