    Let the marks obtained by B be ‘x’. So, marks obtained by A = 1.25x According to question, (1.25x – x) + 140 = 190 0.25x = 190 – 140 0.25x = 50 x = 50/0.25 x = 200 Therefore, marks obtained by A = 1.25 × 200 = 250 marks
