Question
X and Y started a business by investing Rs. 30000 and
Rs. 20000 respectively. After 6 months, Z joined with an investment of Rs. 25000. At the end of one year, X’s share in profit is Rs. 4500 more than Y’s share. Find the total profit earned.Solution
Profit share ratio = (30000 × 12) : (20000 × 12) : (25000 × 6)
= 360000 : 240000 : 150000
= 24 : 16 : 10 Sum = 24 + 16 + 10 = 50
Let total profit = 50x
ATQ,
24x – 16x = 4500
8x = 4500
x = 562.5 Total profit = 50 × 562.5 = Rs. 28125
