    larger number by the smaller, we get 6 as quotient and the 15 as remainder. What is the smaller number?

    Solution

    Let the larger number be x and smaller number be y. According to question, => x - y = 1365 ------ (i) => 6y + 15 = x ------ (ii) Now solving (i) and (ii), we get => y = 270 The smaller number is 270.
