Question
A wooden box measures 30 cm by 24 cm by 20
cm. Thickness of wood is 3
cm. Find the volume of wood required to make the box.
Solution
Volume of outer box = 30 x 24 x 20 = 14400 cm 3 & Volume of inner box without wood = 24 x 18 x 14 = 6048 cm 3 Hence volume of wood = 14400 - 6048 = 8352 cm 3
