Question
A rectangular park is 40 m long and 24 m broad. A path of width 3 m is built outside it all around. Find the area of the path.
Solution
ATQ, Outer length = 40 + 6 = 46 m Outer breadth = 24 + 6 = 30 m Outer area = 46 x 30 = 1380 Inner area = 40 x 24 = 960 Area of path = 1380 - 960 = 420 sq m
