Amount spent by Ramesh in 2019 = 40000 × 0.5 = Rs. 20,000
Amount saved by Ramesh in 2019 = 40000 - 20000 = Rs. 20,000
Income of Ramesh in 2020 = 40000 × 1.1 = Rs. 44,000
Amount spent by Ramesh in 2020 = 20000 + 1000 = Rs. 21,000
So, amount saved by Ramesh in 2020 = 44000 - 21000 = Rs. 23,000
Increase in savings as compared to 2019 = 23000 - 20000 = Rs. 3,000
