      What is the yearly salary of Mr. Rohan? I. Sohan

      earns Rs. 44000 more than Mohan in a year who earns Rs. 16000 more than Rohan per annum. II. The total salary of Rohan and Sohan together for one year is Rs.192000. Each of the questions below consists of a question and two statements numbered I and II given below it. You have to decide whether the data provided in the statements are sufficient to answer the question. Read both the statements and give answer –

      Solution

      From statement (i), S = M + 44,000 and R = M – 16,000 From the above we cannot get the answer. But with the help of above and statement (ii),  M + 44,000 + M – 16,000 = 1,92,000 ⇒ 2M + 28,000 = 1,92,000 ∴ M = 82,000 ∴ Rohan’s salary = M – 16,000 = 82,000 – 16,000 = Rs.66,000 Hence, with the help of both the statement we can get the answer.
