Speed of stream = 7x – 6x = x km/h Speed of boat in downstream = 7x + x = 8x km/h So, 8x = 440/5 => x = 11 Speed of boat in still water = 7 × 11 = 77 km/h Desired time = 38.5/77 x 60 = 30 minutes
