Let the toffees received by 1st boy be ‘x’
According to the question,
(x + x + 1 + x + 2 + x + 3 + x + 4) = 8 × 5
Or, 5x + 10 = 40
Or, 5x = 30
Or, x = 6
Therefore, highest number of toffees received by any boy = (x + 4) = 10
