Total weight of x persons = 50 × x = 50x kg Total weight of (x – 15) women = 40 × (x – 15) = 40x – 600 kg According to the question, 50x = 40x – 600 + 35x – 600 + 50x – 1200 50x = 125x – 2400 125x – 50x = 2400 75x = 2400 x = 32
