Question
In triangle ABC, G is the centroid. If CF, AD and 'BE'
are medians on sides 'AB', 'BC' and 'CA' respectively, and area of triangle BGF is 24 cm2, then find the area of triangle ABG.Solution
We know that each median divides the area of triangle into two equal parts.
So, area of the six triangles drawn inside ΔABC is equal and (1/6) th of the area of ΔABC.
So, Area of ΔABG = Area of ΔAFG + Area of ΔBFG
So, required area = 24 + 24 = 48 cm2
