    So, present ages of Rina and Tina are (5y - 6) years and (7y - 6) years, respectively

    We have, (5y - 6) + (7y - 6) = 72

    So, 12y = 72 + 12 = 84

    So, y = 84 ÷ 12 = 7

    So, difference between ages of Rina and Tina = 7y - 5y = 2y = 2 × 7 = 14 years
