    When 16 years is subtracted from the present age of A

    and the obtained result is divided by 3, then the present age of his nephew is obtained. If the present age of his nephew is 4 years less than the present age of A’s son who is 16 years old, then find the present age of A.

    Let the Present age of A be ‘x’ years Present age of his nephew = 16 – 4 = 12 years Therefore, {(x – 16)/3} = 12 Or, x – 16 = 36 Or, x = 52 Therefore, present age of A = 52 years
