Sum of ages of A, B and C = 30 × 3 = 90 years Sum of ages of B, A and D = 24 × 3 = 72 years So, C – D = 90 – 72 = 18 years Let the age of C and D be 5x and 3x years, respectively. 5x – 3x = 18 2x = 18 x = 9 So, age of D = 3x = 27 years.
