    2:5:7. The age difference between 'P' and 'R' is 20 years. After 'm' years, age of 'Q' will be 50% more than that of 'P'. Find the value of 'm'.
    A 10 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    B 20 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    C 16 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    D 21 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    ATQ,

    Let the present ages of P, Q and R be 2x, 5x and 7x years respectively.

    ATQ,

    7x - 2x = 20

    So, x = 4

    Present age of P = 2x = 2 × 4 = 8 years

    Present age of Q = 5x = 5 × 4 = 20 years

    ATQ,

    (8 + m) × 1.5 = (20 + m)

    12 + 1.5m = 20 + m

    So, 1.5m - m = 8

    => 0.5m = 8

    => m = 16
