while the ratio of present ages of Varun to that of Tarun is 5:4. If the age of Varun, 12 years ago from now was 18 years, then find the sum of present ages of Rishi and Tarun.Solution
ATQ,
Let the present age of Rishi and Tarun be '3x' years and '4x' years, respectively.
So, present age of Varun = 5/4 × 4x = 5x years
Varun's present age = (18 + 12) = 30 years.
So, 5x = 30
Or, x = 6
Required sum = (3x + 4x) = (7x) = (7 × 6) = 42 years
