Question
The ratio of the age of R after 3 years to the age of S
after 6 years is 3:2. The total age of S and T after 10 years is 84 years. T’s age 6 years ago was half of what it will be after 14 years. Find the current age of R.Solution
ATQ,
T – 6 = 1/2 * (T + 14)
2T – 12 = T + 14
T = 26
Present age of T = 26 years
S + 10 + T + 10 = 84
S + 10 + 26 + 10 = 84
S = 84 – 46 = 38 years
R + 3 = 3/2 * (38 + 6)
R + 3 = 3/2 * 44
R = 66 – 3 = 63 years
