Present age of Karan is 75% more than the present age of
Vivek. Ashish is 12 years younger to Karan. Present age of Vivek is 20% less than the present age of Ashish. Find the average age of Karan, Vivek and Ashish after seven years.Solution
Let the present age of Ashish be ‘x’ years. Present age of Vivek = 0.80 × x = ‘0.8x’ years Present age of Karan = 1.75 × 0.8x = ‘1.4x’ years According to question, 1.4x – x = 12 0.4x = 12 x = 30 So, the present ages of Ashish, Vivek and Karan are 30 years, 24 years and 42 years, respectively. Average age of Ashish, Vivek and Karan after 7 years = {(30 + 24 + 42)/3} + 7 = (32 + 7) = 39 years
