Question
The total of the current ages of Aarav, Bishnu, Chinky,
and Danny is 94 years. Chinky's present age is 60% of Danny's present age and 50% more than Aarav's present age. Six years from now, Bishnu's age will be 25% more than his current age. Determine the average present age of Chinky and Danny.Solution
ATQ, Let the present age of 'Aarav' = '2p' years Then, present age of 'Chinky' = 2p × 1.5 = '3p' years Present age of 'Danny' = 3p ÷ 0.6 = '5p' years Let the present age of 'Bishnu' = 'q' years According to the question, (q + 6) = q × 1.25 Or, 0.25q = 6 So, q = 6 ÷ 0.25 = 24 And so, sum of present ages of 'Aarav', 'Chinky' and 'Danny' = 2p + 3p + 5p = '10p' years So, 10p = 94 - 24 = 70 So, p = (70/10) = 7 So, average of present age of 'Chinky' and 'Danny' = (3p + 5p) ÷ 2 = 4p = 28years
