In the question below, some statements are given followed by three conclusions I, II and
III. You have to take the given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance with commonly known facts. Read all the conclusions and then decide which of the given conclusion definitely follows from the given statements, disregarding commonly known facts. Statements: All Almirah is Cupboard. Some Rack is Almirah. No Almirah is Shelf. Conclusions:
I. Some Shelf is not Rack.
II. Some Cupboard is Rack.
III. No Shelf is Cupboard.

A Only Conclusion I follows Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B Only Conclusion I and II follow Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C Only Conclusion II and III follow Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D Only Conclusion II follows Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

Solution

Some Rack is Almirah (I) + No Almirah is Shelf (E) → Some Rack is not Shelf (O). Hence conclusion I does not follow. Some Rack is Almirah (I) + All Almirah is Cupboard (A) → Some Rack is Cupboard (I) → Conversion → Some Cupboard is Rack (I). Hence conclusion II follows. All Almirah is Cupboard (A) → Conversion → Some Cupboard is Almirah (I) + No Almirah is Shelf (E) → Some Cupboard is not Almirah (O). Hence conclusion III does not follow.
