Solution

From I. Number of sons = 8. Number of daughter = 1. Hence, the total number of total children = 8 + 1 = 9 From II. Suppose number of daughter = x Hence, the number of total children = 8 x + x = 9 x Still we need the value of x. Hence II alone is not sufficient.
