The lowermost floor of the building is numbered 1 and the topmost floor of the building is numbered 8. Each of them likes different colours viz, Pink, White, Black, Red, Green, Yellow, Orange and Brown but not necessarily in the same order. The one who likes White lives on an even numbered floor but not on topmost floor. Only one person lives between F and the one who likes Green. Only two persons live between F and the one who likes White. Neither E nor C lives on the first floor. Only one person lives between C and the one who likes Black. A lives just above F. Only two persons live between E and A. The one who likes Green does not live on floor numbered one, B lives on an even numbered floor just above C. The one who likes Red lives on an even numbered floor and lives just above the one who likes Brown. C does not like Green or Brown. Only two persons live between the one who likes Yellow and the one who likes Pink. D does not like Orange. The one who likes Yellow does not live on an odd numbered floor. H lives just below the one who likes Brown.

    According to the given information, The one who likes White lives on an even numbered floor but not on topmost floor. Only two persons live between F and the one who likes White. Only one person lives between F and the one who likes Green. The one who likes Green does not live on floor numbered one. A lives just above F. Only two persons live between E and A. Neither E nor C lives on the first floor. B lives on an even numbered floor just above C. If the one who likes White lives on 6th floor, then we will check case 1 for it, Case 1: If the one who likes White lives on 4th floor and the person F can live at two places on floor 1st or at 7th floor, then one more  case 2.a will be formed of this case 2.  Case 2: case-2a When the one who likes White lives on floor 2nd then F lives on floor 5th in case 3.  Now in this Green can be at two places one at floor 3rd or at floor 7th, so one subcase will be formed for this case 3. Case 3: In case 1, B and C can only live at floor 2nd and 1st but this is not possible as per the data provided in the question that C cannot live at 1st floor, so this case 1 gets discarded. Let’s continue with the other cases. B and C only can live on floor 8th and 7th in case 2, The one who likes Red lives on an even numbered floor and lives just above the one who likes Brown.  H lives just below the one who likes Brown. The one who likes Yellow does not live on an odd numbered floor. Only two persons live between the one who likes Yellow and the one who likes Pink. Only two persons live between the one who likes Yellow and the one who likes Pink. For this Yellow must be living on floor 6th and the one who likes Pink on floor 3rd. D does not like Orange. Only one person lives between C and the one who likes Black. The one who likes Black lives on floor 1st and is liked by D. Now only G left for floor 2nd and he likes Orange.
