    5. If sec x + tan x = 11 then find secx?

    Question

    If sec x + tan x = 11 then find secx?

A 1 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 61/9 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 61/11 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    we know that sec2 x - tan2 x = 1 or (sec x + tan x)(sec x - tan x)=1 or sec x - tan x = 1/(sec x + tan x) = 1/11 now we have sec x + tan x = 11--- (1) & sec x - tan x = 1/11 ----- (2) Solving these 2 equations, we will get sec x = 61/11
