      Two friends ‘P’ and ‘Q’ started walking towards

      each other from two towns ‘A’ and ‘B’ respectively. When they met after 7 hours, ‘Q’ had walked 105 km more than ‘P’. What was the distance covered by ‘P’ in 3 hours if the distance between towns A and B is 525 km?
      A 90 km Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      B 60 km Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      C 40 km Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      D 20 km Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      E None of these Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

      Solution

      ATQ,

      Let distance travelled by friend ‘P’ at the time of meet = x km

      So, distance travelled by friend ‘Q’ at the time of meet = x + 105 km

      According to question;

      x + x + 105 = 525

      Or, 2x = 420

      Or, x = 210

      Distance travelled by ‘P’ in 7 hours = 210 km

      Speed of ‘P’ = 210 / 7 = 30 km/h

      Distance travelled by ‘P’ in 3 hours = 30 × 3 = 90 km
