Question
A train travels a certain route in 250 minutes at a
speed of 48 km/h. If the same journey is done by bus in 5 hours, what should be the speed of the bus?Solution
ATQ,
When distance is constant,
Time ∝ 1/Speed
5 hours = 5 × 60 = 300 minutes
(Speed of train) ÷ (Speed of bus) = 300 ÷ 250 = 6:5
Speed of bus = (5/6) × 48 = 40 km/h
