Total distance = 30/60× 20 + 20/60× 30 + 2× 40 + 3 × 50 = 10 + 10 + 80 + 150 = 250 km Total time = 30/60 + 20/60 + 2 + 3 = 35/6 hr. Average velocity = (Total distance)/(Total time ) = (250 × 6)/35 = 42.85 km/hr.
