      circular track of 360 meters. First time they meet during the race after 6 minutes of starting of race. Find the time taken by Q to complete the race, if he runs at half the speed of P.

      Solution

      Let speed of P is 2x and speed of Q is x. According to question, 360/(2x−x) = 6 min ⇒ 2x – x = 60 meters/min ⇒ x = 60 meters/min Therefore the speed of Q is 60 meters/min.  Time taken by Q = 1080/60 = 18 minutes
