    Question

Three numbers ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ are such

that ‘A’ is two-third of ‘B’ and ‘C’ is equal to the average of ‘A’ and ‘B’. If the sum of these three numbers is 450, then find the value of ‘A’.
A 100 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 150 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 120 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 90 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    Let the value of ‘B’ be ‘6x’ So, value of ‘A’ = (2/3) × 6x = ‘4x’ So, value of ‘C’ = (4x + 6x)/2 = 10x/2 = ‘5x’ ATQ; 4x + 6x + 5x = 450 Or, 15x = 450 Or, x = 30 So, value of ‘A’ = 4x = 4 × 30 = 120
