the average of the numbers A and B. If the sum of A, B and C is 182, then what is the value of A?Solution
Let the number A and B are 9y and 19y respectively.
C = 60% of (9y + 19y)/2 = 8.4y
Now,
Sum of A, B and C = 182
9y + 19y + 8.4y = 182
36.4y = 182
y = 5
Hence, the value of A = 9*5 = 45
