(red, white, yellow and blue) . Ratio of number of students in red house to that in blue house is 2:3, ratio of number of students in red house to that in yellow 4:5 and ratio of number of students in white house to that in blue house is 1:3. A 300 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 450 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 550 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 200 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E 250 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

      Solution

      Let the number of students in red house and blue house be '4x' and '6x', respectively. So, number of students in yellow house = 4x X (5/4) = '5x' So, number of students in white house = 6x X (1/3) = '2x' ATQ, (4x + 6x + 5x + 2x) = 850 Or, 17x = 850 Or, 'x' = 50 Therefore, required sum = 5x + 6x = '11x' = 11 X 50 = 550
