Question
If the total cost of 4 chairs and 7 tables is Rs. 410 and
the total cost of 3 chairs and 5 tables is Rs. 300, then find the cost of 6 chairs.Solution
ATQ,
Let the cost of one chair and one table be Rs. x and Rs. y, respectively.
ATQ;
4x+7y=410(I)
3x+5y=300(II)
Multiply Equation (II) by 7 and Equation (I) by 5, then subtract:
21x+35y−20x−35y=2100−2050
x=50
Cost of 6 chairs = 6×50=300 Rs.
