Question
If the average cost price of 18 identical bags decreases by
Rs. 5 after replacing one bag with a new bag that costs Rs. 90, what was the original cost price of the replaced bag?Solution
ATQ;
Let the cost price of each bag be Rs. 'x'.
So, cost price of 18 bags = Rs. 18x
ATQ:
(18x - x + 90) ÷ 18 = x - 5
Or, 17x + 90 = 18x - 90
Or, x = 180
So, the cost price of the bag that was removed is Rs. 180.
