Question
The ratio between the cost price of gadget E and F is 3:2 respectively. Each of the gadgets was marked 60% above its cost price. If the MRP of gadget E is Rs. 1800 more than the MRP of gadget F, then find out the sum of the cost price of both of the gadgets.
Solution
ATQ, The ratio between the cost price of gadget E and F is 3:2 respectively. Letβs assume the cost price of gadget E and F is 3w and 2w respectively. Each of the gadgets was marked 60% above its cost price. 3w of (100+60)% = 2w of (100+60)% + 1800 3w x 1.6 = 2w x 1.6 + 1800 1.6(3w - 2w) = 1800 w x 1.6 = 1800 w = 1125 Sum of the cost price of both of the gadgets = 3w+2w = 5w = 5x1125 = Rs.5625
