Due to x% increase/decrease in the price, the person purchased 'y' kg less/more in Rs. 'a' So, we can say that x% of a is the price of y kg  Price of y kg = x% of a Price of 1 kg = (x% of a)/y  Reduced price of per kg sugar = (10% of 300)/5 = (10 x 300)/5 = 6 Rs.
