ATQ, Let the capacity of the tank be 24 units Efficiency of pipe A = 24/8 = 3 units/hour Efficiency of pipe B = 24/24 = 1 unit/hour Efficiency of pipe C = 24/12 = 2 units/hour Tank filled in 1 hour = 3 + 1 − 2 = 2 units 75% of the tank = 24 × 75/100 = 18 units Time taken to fill 75% of the tank = 18/2 = 9 hours Therefore, tank will get filled at (7:30 a.m. + 9 hours) = 4:30 p.m.
