Question
Out of his total income, Neeraj spent 20% on food, 25% of the remaining income on rent, and saved the remaining income which amounts to Rs. 24,000. Mohit's income is 10% more than that of Neeraj. Find the income of Mohit.
Solution
Let the income of Neeraj = Rs. '100x' Amount left after spending on food = 100x - 100x X 0.20 = Rs. '80x' Amount left after spending on rent = 80x - 80x X 0.25 = Rs. '60x' So, 60x = 24000 Or, x = 24000 Γ· 60 = 400 So, income of Neeraj = 400 X 100 = Rs. 40,000 Income of Mohit = 40000 X 1.10 = Rs. 44,000
