C Rs. 9,600 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D Rs. 10,800 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E None of these Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    Let the monthly salary of Rahul = Rs. 100x Amount spent by Rahul on electricity and groceries together = 15x + 25x = Rs. 40x Amount spent by Rahul on education and health insurance together = 0.30 Γ— (100x – 40x) = Rs. 18x Amount given to wife = 0.40 Γ— (100x – 40x – 18x) = Rs. 16.8x So amount left with him = 0.60 Γ— (100x – 40x – 18x) = 15120 25.2x = 15120 x = 600 So the amount spent by Rahul on education = 0.20 Γ— 60 Γ— 600 = Rs. 7,200
