Question

    ‘X’ owns 40% less pens than ‘Y’. ‘Y’ owns

50% more pens than ‘Z’. By what percentage are the pens with ‘X’ less than those with ‘Z’?
A 10% Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 25% Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 15% Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 18% Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    ATQ,

Let, number of pens with ‘Y’ = 30a

    Number of pens with ‘X’ = 0.6 × 30a = 18a

    Number of pens with ‘Z’ = (30a/1.5) = 20a

    So, required percentage = {(20a – 18a)/20a} × 100 = 10%
