    Let marks of B = 5x So, marks of A = 5x × 1.4 = 7x B got 44(4/9)% less than C → B = C × (5/9) ⇒ C = 5x × (9/5) = 9x C got 12.5% more than D → C = D × (9/8) ⇒ D = 9x × (8/9) = 8x Now, A + D = 60 ⇒ 7x + 8x = 60 ⇒ 15x = 60 ⇒ x = 4 Difference between C and B = 9x – 5x = 4x = 4 × 4 = 16
