Number of girls in the class = 100x × 0.40 = ‘40x’ Number of girls who can read = 40x × 0.75 = ‘30x’ ATQ: 30x = 108 Or, x = 3.6 So, the number of students in the class = 3.6 × 100 = 360 Alternate solution: Number of students in the class = 108 ÷ 0.75 ÷ 0.40 = 360
