    210 marks. But if he scores 55% marks then he is passed by 240 marks. Find the passing percentage. Let the maximum marks be x.

    Solution

    x × 30/100 + 210 = x × 55/100 - 240 25x/100 = 450 x = 1800  Passing Marks = 1800 × 30/100+ 210 = 750 Passing % = 750/1800 ×100 = 41.6%
