    on makeup. She spent 10% of the remaining on the food and 50% of the remaining invested in mutual funds and remaining she spent on clothing. If the amount she spent on entertainment and makeup together is Rs.8000, then find the amount she spent on clothing?

    Let the salary be Rs.100x. Salary spent on entertainment and makeup together = 40% of 100x = 40x Salary spent on food = 10% of (100x – 40x) = 6x Remaining salary = 60x – 6x = 54x Salary invested in mutual funds = 50% of 54x = 27x Amount she spent on clothing = 8000 × (27x/40x) = Rs.5400
