such that the amount received by 'B' was 30% more than that by 'A'. If 'A' and 'B' spent 10% and 25% of the respective amounts received by them, then find the sum of amounts spent by 'A' and 'B' together.
A Rs. 4,800 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B Rs. 5,100 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C Rs. 5,400 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D Rs. 5,000 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E Rs. 4,900 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    Let the amount received by β€˜A’ = Rs. β€˜10x’ Then amount received by β€˜B’ = 10x Γ— 1.3 = Rs. β€˜13x’ we have, 10x + 13x = 27600 So, x = 27600 Γ· 23 = 1200 So, amount received by β€˜A’ = 10 Γ— 1200 = Rs. 12,000
    Amount received by β€˜B’ = 13 Γ— 1200 = Rs. 15,600 Amount spent by β€˜A’ = 12000 Γ— 0.1 = Rs. 1,200
    Amount spent by β€˜B’ = 15600 Γ— 0.25 = Rs. 3,900 So, required sum = 1200 + 3900 = Rs. 5,100
