    Let the monthly salary of Rajesh be Rs. ‘x’ Amount spent on food = Rs. 0.45x Amount spent on rent = Rs. 0.20x Amount received by brother = (x - 0.45x - 0.20x) x 0.25 = 0.35x x 0.25 = 0.0875x So according to question: 0.20x - 0.0875x = 1125 0.1125x = 1125 x = 10000 So, the amount spent on food = 0.45 x 10000 = Rs. 4500
