Question

150 litres of solution 'C' has milk and water in the ratio

3:2, and 350 litres of solution 'D' has them in the ratio 7:3. Find the final ratio of milk to water when both are combined.
A 45:47 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 67:33 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 66:71 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 43:57 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E None of these Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    ATQ,

    Quantity of milk in solution 'C' = 150 × (3/5) = 90 litres

    Quantity of water in solution 'C' = 150 - 90 = 60 litres

    Quantity of milk in solution 'D' = 350 × (7/10) = 245 litres

    Quantity of water in solution 'D' = 350 - 245 = 105 litres

    Therefore, required ratio = (90 + 245) : (60 + 105) = 335 : 165 = 67 : 33
