Mixture ‘E’ of salt and water contains salt and water in ratio 6:5, respectively. What will be the ratio of salt to water in mixture ‘E’ when quantity of salt and water equal to 10% and 40% of the initial quantity of salt and water in mixture ‘E’, respectively is added to it?
Solution
Let the quantity of salt and water in mixture ‘E’ initially be 6x litres and 5x litres, respectively.
Required ratio = {6x + 0.1 × 6x}:{5x + 0.4 × 5x} = 6.6x : 7x = 33:35
