Let A = 2y, B = 3y
(2y + 10):(3y + 5) = 4:5
⇒ 5(2y + 10) = 4(3y + 5)
⇒ 10y + 50 = 12y + 20
⇒ 2y = 30 ⇒ y = 15
Initial quantity = 2y + 3y = 5y = 5 × 15 = 75 litres
